Terms of Service — UnifyMe Home Automation

Last updated: February 20, 2026

UnifyMe Home Automation ("we", "our", "us") operates this website and store. By accessing or purchasing from our store, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.

Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Who We Are

Throughout this site, "we", "us" and "our" refer to UnifyMe Home Automation. You can contact us at support@unifyme.com.au.

2. Use of Our Store

You must not use our products or website for any illegal or unauthorised purpose. You must not transmit malware, viruses, worms, or any malicious code through our store or services. You must not scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of our website without our written permission.

A breach of these conditions may result in immediate termination of your access to our services.

3. DIY Nature of Our Products

UnifyMe kits are do-it-yourself (DIY) products. By purchasing, you acknowledge that:

  • Installation and configuration are your responsibility
  • Setup outcomes depend on your specific home environment, network configuration, and technical capability
  • We provide guides, documentation, and support to assist you, but we do not perform installation on your behalf unless you have separately purchased a remote setup service
  • Results may vary depending on your existing home infrastructure, network setup, and devices

We are not liable for outcomes arising from incorrect installation, misconfiguration, or failure to follow our provided instructions.

4. Products and Services

We offer the following products and services:

  • Smart home hardware kits — including cameras, sensors, hubs, and related devices
  • Digital guides and onboarding wizards — setup and configuration resources
  • Automation templates and dashboards — pre-built Home Assistant configurations
  • Remote setup services — assisted configuration of your smart home system

We reserve the right to modify products, adjust pricing, or discontinue items at any time. This does not affect the price confirmed at the time of purchase.

5. Accuracy of Information

We do our best to provide accurate product descriptions, compatibility information, and setup guidance. However, we are not liable for:

  • Changes made by third-party hardware or software manufacturers
  • Software or firmware updates that alter product features or compatibility
  • Changes to Home Assistant integrations or APIs beyond our control

Smart home technology evolves rapidly. Compatibility with third-party devices and services may change without notice.

About Your UnifyMe System

UnifyMe kits are designed to help you build a long-term smart home ecosystem centred around a local Home Assistant hub. New devices and capabilities can be added to your hub over time as your needs evolve. Camera functionality is built on local protocols including ONVIF and RTSP, operating independently of any manufacturer's cloud service. Other devices such as smart lighting use local device APIs where available. All third-party integrations are accurate at the time of purchase but may be subject to compatibility changes introduced by manufacturers through firmware updates or API changes outside our control. Where a device reaches end of life or loses compatibility outside its warranty period, it can typically be replaced with an equivalent device — which may be a different brand — without affecting the broader system.

6. Pricing

All prices are displayed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes do not affect orders that have already been placed and confirmed. If an error in pricing is identified after your order is placed, we will contact you before proceeding.

7. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • PayPal
  • Shop Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are processed securely via Shopify Payments. We do not store your full card details.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery times provided are estimates only and may vary due to carrier delays beyond our control. Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details on dispatch schedules, delivery times, carriers, and shipping costs.

9. Digital Goods

Digital products include but are not limited to:

  • Onboarding wizards
  • Home Assistant dashboards
  • Setup guides and video tutorials
  • Automation templates and configuration files

Digital goods are delivered electronically and are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law where a product fails to meet consumer guarantees.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep your digital resources functional and updated for Home Assistant compatibility changes for 24 months from the date of purchase, subject to third-party platform changes outside our control. Where a third-party change makes it impractical to maintain compatibility, we will notify you and use reasonable endeavours to provide an alternative solution.

10. Remote Setup Services

By purchasing a remote setup service, you agree that:

  • You will provide accurate information about your home network and devices
  • You have a compatible Wi-Fi environment suitable for smart home devices
  • You understand that setup outcomes depend on your specific home environment and network configuration

Where required, our setup service is delivered via screen sharing or remote desktop access during your scheduled session only. No ongoing or background access to your devices or network is retained after the session ends.

We are not responsible for setup failures caused by:

  • Faulty or incompatible routers
  • ISP restrictions or double-NAT configurations
  • Unsupported smart home devices purchased from third parties
  • Wi-Fi dead zones or insufficient Bluetooth range
  • Network restrictions outside our control

If a setup cannot be completed due to a fault on our part, you will be eligible for a full refund. Please refer to our Warranty and Refund Policy for full details.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law — and without excluding any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law — our total liability to you for any claim arising from the purchase or use of our products or services is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant product or service.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from your use of our products or services, including but not limited to:

  • Damage resulting from misconfigured networks or incorrect installation
  • Unintended automation behaviour such as unexpected device triggers
  • Loss or damage caused by third-party device outages, firmware upgrades, or API changes
  • Property damage, personal injury, loss of data, or loss of use

You acknowledge that smart home systems may require periodic maintenance and that integrations with third-party platforms may change over time.

12. Third-Party Services and Integrations

UnifyMe kits are built around a local Home Assistant hub designed to grow with you over time. The open nature of Home Assistant means new devices can be added, and individual components can be replaced with equivalent alternatives — including different brands — without disrupting your wider setup.

Camera products use open local protocols such as ONVIF and RTSP, operating independently of third-party cloud services. Other devices such as smart lighting use local device APIs where available, but may be subject to compatibility changes introduced by manufacturers through firmware updates.

Where additional integrations with platforms or devices are available — including but not limited to Home Assistant, Aqara, TP-Link / Tapo, Nabu Casa, and Govee — these are provided as-is and are accurate at the time of purchase.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for these third parties. We are not liable for outages, API changes, firmware updates, or discontinued compatibility introduced by third-party providers.

Where a third-party change affects your UnifyMe system, we will make reasonable efforts to identify and communicate an alternative solution, which may include updated configuration files, alternative integration methods, or compatible hardware recommendations.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of our store after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
