About UnifyMe

I originally thought adding to my smart home meant downloading another app. Over the years, my wife and I accumulated lots of them: Hue for lights, Tesla for the car, Sungrow for solar monitoring, Meross for smart plugs, Aqara for a smart lock, an aircon remote we were always losing, and LG for the washing machine and dryer. Our home was technically "smart." But it didn't feel that way.

My wife put it best: "You're overcomplicating things."

She was right. Having a dozen apps isn't a smart home. It’s just a fragmented one.

Then our daughter arrived, and we did what every new parent does: bought an expensive baby monitor bundle. The camera was poor quality, the smart sock (heart monitor) kept getting kicked off in the night and sending panic alerts at 2am. We returned both within the first month and built our own setup instead. A decent camera, a room thermometer, dimmable lights, and a simple non-smart audio monitor. That was it. No fancy AI baby tracking, just the things that actually mattered.

Around the same time, I discovered Home Assistant. As someone who's spent their entire career in technology, I'd tinkered with every smart home ecosystem going (including Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa). Nothing came close. With Home Assistant for the first time, everything lived in one dashboard: lights, A/C, solar, the car, our baby’s room. It was simple, clean and intuitive. My wife actually loved using it and we both finally started getting the most out of our smart home.

I'm Kiran, the founder of UnifyMe. I built this business because I wanted to help other households skip the years of trial and error it took me to get here. That's why every kit comes with the tried-and-trusted hardware I use myself, plus easy-to-follow guides (that are easier than Ikea) that I keep updated.
